Up North

up north from Peter Richner on Vimeo.

An awesome video of Justin “Jitter” Gafford flying a plane he built with Swiss Peter Richner. They made a road trip up to the Central Coast and flew a few spots along the way, all in very light lift conditions. I don’t think you can find a better example of the versatility and sheer fun potential of an ultrabatics glider! Dig the sweet rolling circle… so much radness here! :)

A new Aroso vid from Rainer Peters

Super fun video from Rainer Peters of a couple of Arosos flying in strong wind. Good times!

VTPR 2012 by Guillaume Leroyer

Super nice video of Guillaume Leroyer flying his Sonic in Brittany. They’ve had a lousy summer over there with lots of clouds and rain, but that didn’t stop Guillaume from getting back out flying with his dad. He’d been living abroad in Canada for work and was just back after two years away… clearly his flying hasn’t suffered at all! Really nice to see him making more movies!! :)

Light Day at Ellwood – Justin having fun

Light Day at Ellwood Justin having fun from Peter Richner on Vimeo.

Another great video from Justin and Peter… wow, if this doesn’t make you want to go fly right now, I think you’d better check your pulse! Justin is flying a 74″ version of the Swiss Fish which Peter designed. Really beautiful flying, great editing and camera angles, and a perfect soundtrack. Winning!

Fun with Fish

Video of Justin Gafford flying a 74″ Swiss Fish designed by Peter Richner. Looks like it was a fun day out at Ellwood! :)

New Traceur video

A very cool new Traceur video that Dawson pointed out… digging this. Love the slow motion effect from the smooth flying, very nice :)

The Traceur is one of the first purpose-built European ultrabat kits and is available from Modellbau Joost of Germany: Traceur EPP.

Swissed Suraci Ultrabatics from Colombia

Luis Alberto Robledo T. of Colombia has sent another video of his Suraci flying the beautiful local slopes. He has modified his plane and given it a “Swiss” treatment with lightening holes and an all moving tail. His flying was already good with this plane, but for me, it seems he’s gotten even better now that his plane has been lightened further!

Next he plans to build an ExCali… can’t wait! He’s an excellent pilot and I expect we’ll see some very cool things from him in the future!
